The provider had failed to notify the Commission, as required, of multiple safeguarding referrals. It is with pleasure that I write to tell you how much I appreciate the work your staff do and have done for me for me and my husband over the past 2 years. This was to ensure that only people worked at the office could gain access to confidential information. During the inspection, we spoke with 13 people who used the service and their relatives. We also visited three people who used the service in their own homes. The provider had suitable arrangements in place to protect the health, welfare and safety of the people who used the service. The summary is based on our observations during the inspection, speaking with people using the service, their relatives, and the staff supporting them and from looking at records.

They were cared for and supported by staff who knew them well. People’s views were actively sought and they were involved in making decisions about their care and support. People received a service that was effective and met their care and support needs.
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant. As we’ve learned during this pandemic, we are all in this together. We want our residents, staff, and their respective families to know that when they are in an Avery care home, that it is one of the safest and cleanest places to be. Care Services
With our Telehealth service you can visit your doctor from the comfort of your own home. Social media provides an up to date window on the activities within a provider's setting. Yes, our care home provides a telephone in all our resident’s rooms. The pods, installed byWild Environments, are a garden room specifically designed to facilitate safe face-to-face contact with relatives and visitors. Each pod contains a floor to ceiling partition screen and a hands-free intercom so that communication is clear and safe for use. They are fitted with internal electrics and two, low-surface temperature electric panel heaters.
The provider had not consistently ensured that accurate assessments had identified risks to people. Where risks had been identified to the service by other healthcare professionals, risk management guidance had not been produced to reduce the risk of harm to the people involved. People told us they received their medicines, but the absence of any auditing process to identify errors or shortfalls had resulted in a conflicting record going unidentified.

Local family was honored at Bristol Homecare and Hospice Agency for special care they provided last year to the family of 57 year-old Michael Gullotta. Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe. We aim to make the experience as enjoyable and sociable for our residents as possible. Our excellent team of chefs are trained on delivering choice, quality, seasonality and nutrition in all our meals and we often enjoy themed culinary events too. Our kitchen staff love to keep our residents fed and happy, and if there is nothing on the menu that you fancy then the team will happily create something else.

If this service has not had a CQC inspection since it registered with us, our judgement may be based on our assessment of declarations and evidence supplied by the service. For services we haven't rated we use ticks and crosses to show whether we've asked them to take further action or taken enforcement action against them. – the service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
Home is where we feel the most safe, secure, welcome and comfortable. So when someone we care about has been ill or in the hospital, we want that person to be able to recuperate safely, comfortably and be back to everyday living as soon as possible. With the restrictions on visiting during the pandemic, social media platforms such as these offer real insight when you are choosing a provider.
Afternoon tea is something of a regular fixture at our retirement village in Bristol, again it is a time to gather and share in the days news or just make some new acquaintances. Life at Avon Valley Care Home is active and engaging, we are a diverse bunch of people, and our activities and engagements reflect this. There really is something for everyone, whether it is trips out around Gloucestershire and Somerset or the local community groups who pass through our doors.
